Some of my favorite things:
Rosh Hashanah Bingo Game – for ages 2-9 + intergenerational play. Get yours from Amazon – free shipping with Amazon Prime – before they’re gone for good. This year, they’ve already been shipping to New York, California, Virginia, Canada, Hungary, and more.
Jewish Family Celebrations by Arlene Rossen Cardozo – my copy is falling apart, because I’ve consulted it so many times.
Pinterest.com/JewishHolidays board for Rosh Hashanah to remind me of fun ideas.
Some things I haven’t tried yet:
Adult beverages for the high holidays, like these: First Fruits Punch, with pomegranate juice, orange juice, and vodka; Enlightenmint, with fresh mint leaves and peach liqueur; and Spice Baby, featuring passion fruit, white rum and ginger beer. But oh my – this is the one I think I’ll try first when I indulge: Chocolate Life – reminiscent of tiramisu, the recipe says, with dark chocolate sorbet, dark rum, and coffee liqueur.
Rosh Hashanah honey apple cupcakes. Our grands love cupcakes. Who am I kidding? I love cupcakes!
Blowing a shofar. We bought our grandsons shofars for Hanukkah because they were both fascinated by them during high holiday services last year. Both of them were able to make strong sounds on them! I need to give it a try myself.
