Sara Sklaroff has written and edited for a variety of publications, including the Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, Education Week, and Diabetes Forecast. She has also worked as a freelance graphic designer, primarily on branding for startups. Sklaroff and her husband have a young daughter and son who enjoy celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas.
Rabbi Scott Sperling, currently serving Beth El Congregation in Winchester, Virginia, is a graduate of Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion and the University of California, Los Angeles. Rabbi Sperling brings an eclectic range of experience that includes a strong background in education and technology along with 35 years of serving congregations and organizations.
Scott Zimmerman, serving the Jacksonville Jewish Center, Jacksonville, Florida, as Ritual Director & Bar/Bat Mitzvah Coordinator for over 15 was involved in Jewish education for over 20 years at the elementary, high school, and adult education levels. He helped prepare more than 250 Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates since 1997. Scott, who will forever be an unending inspiration for us, passed away on December 25, 2014. May his memory be an eternal blessing.
Rachel Lamanna has a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech, is an elementary school teacher, and has traveled to Africa, Israel, Argentina, and various places in the US. She has also taught Sunday School in the Winchester and Blacksburg, VA areas, was an active member of both Hillel at Virginia Tech and the Jewish interest sorority Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi during her college career.
