Songs for Tu B’Shevat

Loving our treesAlthough there are plenty of Hebrew songs that are traditionally chosen for Tu B’Shevat, such as Hashkediah Porachat, if you don’t know those, no worries!

Brainstorm with your family to identify and sing tunes you know about trees, fruit, blossoms, clean water, and being friendly to the earth.

You can play with this idea for the whole week before Tu B’Shevat and write each new idea down as it comes up.  Then choose your favorites to sing at dinner on February 7th.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  •  The Garden Song (“Inch by inch and row by row, I’m going to make this garden grow” (Peter, Paul and Mary)
  •  Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush
  • Over the River and Through the Woods
  • My Favorite Things (“Raindrops on roses . . .”)
