I’m a big fan of various kinds of illustration – and this simple, colorful, joyful image really spoke to me.
When we received it, I looked at the back and learned that it’s from Yad LaKashish, a non-profit that helps Jerusalem’s needy elderly and disabled “remain active and integral members of Israeli society.”
To make sure I should recommend this organization to you, I contacted my family who sent us the card.
And they echoed what I heard from two other sources whom I asked: Did you get what you ordered? In a reasonable time?
Here’s one of the responses:
I had an absolutely wonderful experience. We had a tour through their facility during our Pesach trip this year, and we bought a lot of gifts in their shop. One of the things I bought was a gift for me: a green silk scarf. I wore it everyday for the rest of my trip, and when I got home I started wishing I had bought one in every color! At the time, that particular scarf wasn’t in the website store. But a month later, it was mentioned in their newsletter, so I bought myself 2 more! They arrived quickly and exactly as promised, along with a sweet hand-written note thanking me for my purchase. They get SIX STARS on a five-star rating system.
You can see more of their Judaica, crafts, painted silks, jewelry, tallitot, and more at their website at www.lifeline.org.il.
